Wayleave roles

Wayleave Surveyor

As a Wayleave Surveyor your role will be central to acquiring land rights, planning consents and environmental permissions for our works on private land. You’ll be required to; meet stakeholders on site and to be proficient in conveying the purpose and necessity of our works, be able to interpret our Design Engineers’ proposals, and explain the practicalities of the construction process. You’ll manage and handle stakeholder queries and challenges and will work to negotiate a mutually acceptable solution using your technical knowledge, statutory understanding, and professionalism. Your role will require you to manage the expectations of our customers, stakeholders and internal engineers, whilst delivering the necessary consent on multiple concurrent schemes.

Land Rights Liaison Officer

As a Land Rights Liaison Officer, you’ll work closely with our landowners and occupiers acquiring new access agreements, renewing existing ones, and recalculating landowner compensation payments. You’ll be required to work with our construction teams arranging access for maintenance works and settling any claims directly with the landowner or with their Rural Land Agent. You’ll need good communication skills and will use technical knowledge, professionalism, and strong negotiation skills to overcome objections if they arise. You’ll also get involved with boundary disputes, rent reviews and lease renewals.

Land Rights & Compensation Coordinator

As a Land Rights & Compensation Coordinator you will provide office-based support to our Wayleave Surveyors. You’ll develop a key understanding of their work portfolios by completing up front searches and schedules and issuing application forms and consents to stakeholders. You will liaise with Customers, Landowners and Stakeholders to check on the progress of agreements, as well as deal with their enquiries. In addition to this you will be involved in and complete resolution of changes of land ownership, payment revisions and re-issuing rental payments.
